They get a call every 25 seconds now... and they only have 500 officers around the country. This is where the problems arise, they are now having to prioritise cases and calls. Which obviously is an awful position to be put in.
It is a charity completely funded by charitable donations with no funding from the government and they depend on the fundraisers and advertisements on the telivision and on the radio.
Last year they had a million calls and could only go out and help a quarter of them. This is where the controversy arrises. When people call, if the animal is known by the RSPCA to not be in any immediate danger, they ask the person to keep the animal until they have the opportunity to come out and help. They prioritise the animal cruelty cases.
